Everyday I find some little thing I think about writing, but somehow my perfectionism gets in the way. Today, I've decided to just do it, just write down my thoughts no matter how disconnected they may be.
The other day, for the first time in my life I really looked at our maple tree, up close and personal. I was amazed at the amount of life on there. It was after a storm and some of the bark had come off, but looking closely, I could see that this has happened to the tree many times before. There were ants and spiders living on the tree. Strangely, there was what appeared to be a bone, maybe from a bird, caught in the bark.
My little patch of garden in the backyard is full of things growing: asparagus, tomatoes, chives, peas, and spinach that something has been nibbling. Yesterday, I planted some zucchini seeds in the front garden, along with some lavender. I'm thinking of tucking a few peas in there as well. There is a little side garden that has been neglected for years, I'd like to plant something there but don't want to disturb the milkweed that's growing in it.
