Summer rec was going on a swimming field trip. Lucky still has his cast, so we went on a big Wednesday adventure instead.
First we went to the farmer's market in St. Clair, in the pouring rain. We each had an umbrella, but somehow I ended up much wetter than he did. What did we buy? Well, tomatoes, peaches, cherries, blueberries, two black eyed Susan plants and a lavender plant. $$$ ch-ching.
Then, dripping wet, we drove to Port Huron and had early lunch at Black River Cafe. If you're ever in Port Huron, I highly recommend this restaurant, the food is fresh and local. Lucky decided on a grilled cheese sandwich, and I had the lamb and smoked tomato bruchetta. Yummm! $$ cha-ching.
I've been looking to buy a tandem bicycle, but need one with a low stand over. Wal-mart had one I could order for less than half the price of the bike store, but I'm assuming it would also be less than half the quality, and the money would leave my community faster than I could put the bike together. I finally decided on a Sun Brickell Tandem and ordered it at the local bike store after lunch yesterday. $!$!$!$! CH-CHING!
Somehow in the midst of our adventure, I neglected to give Lucky his afternoon meds. Instead I took him to the library to drop off books and a vcr tape that had broke in our player. Then we went to the county fair. Cha-ching.
Have I mentioned that Lucky has very severe ADHD?Without meds he is unable to stay focused. So, at the fair, he wandered off to whatever caught his attention. There are a LOT of things to catch a little boy's attention at the county fair. I was forever looking for where he went, and sad that I had no meds for him, or Xanax for me. He very much wanted to go on the carnival rides, but I told him he couldn't because he still has a cast on his leg.
I so wish I knew how to take videos with the iphone. While Lucky was getting his face painted next to the pony ride, a mother was putting her kid on one of the ponies. As soon as they started walking around in their little circle the kid started screaming "Make the horse STOP!" so his mom walked with the pony holding onto the kid that was still screaming his chant of wanting the horse to STOP. She was telling him that he was a cowboy and cowboys ride horses, that he likes to ride the horse. The kid was having none of it and just kept on screaming to make it stop. I wondered if the mother's insistance had anything to do with the $4 she just doled out because the kid begged to ride the pony. LOL
Lucky gets his cast off today! WOOHOO!!! Hopefully we can find a free adventure for today.

What have I been Doing?
It has been a while since my last blog. LOL, it feels like a confession. So, what have I been doing? I really should write it down somewhere so I don't forget.
Today I am make spaghetti for dinner. Not very exciting, but there you have it.
Yesterday I was a bit more productive. I prepared and froze some of my CSA broccoli, made a broccoli salad, and made some guacamole. We had hotdogs for dinner. Not exciting or healthy, what can I say.
I also vacuumed the house, except for downstairs; washed some windows; did a couple loads of laundry; mowed the grass, cleaned up the kitchen; took Lucky to summer rec, and remembered it was pajama day!
